on Sunday I had the opportunity to make a quick trip to the
city of Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta city actually has a lot of attractions that can
be visited, such as travel from the coast to the palace.
my journey from my town to the city of Yogyakarta with the long
journey of less than about 5 hours, although it was boring to the duration of
the trip but it all paid off when set foot in the city of Yogyakarta, this time
I have only one objective that was already long wanted to visit that museum
aerospace , various collections of aircraft ranging from the early 1930s until
the early 1980s, complete documented here.
Yogyakarta aerospace museum itself is located on the east of
the city of Yogyakarta is more precisely located area of Janti, the location of
the museum is located in the complex of military air forces and also right next
to the west of the airport Adi Sucipto. in the museum there are more than 30
aircraft which is as historic aircraft which at that time was helping countries
Indonesia to win the battle against the invaders, in the museum there is also a
lot of explanation about the perpetrators of history especially in the air
force, for me personally literature offered is able to satisfy the taste I was
curious to figure "Adi Sucipto" whose name is immortalized as one of
the airport in the city of yogyakarta.
The central museum of the "Dirgantara Mandala" air
force was conceived to immortalize historic events within the scope of the air
force & headquartered within the adisucipto jogjakarta airport area. Before
being in jogjakarta this museum is actually located in Tanah Abang Bukit
Jakarta & moved to jogjakarta on 29 july 1978. this aerospace museum
occupies a former location is a warehouse former sugar factory which in japan
colonial period also functioned as logistic warehouse, wide entire area of
museum The aerospace is 4.2 hectares & the whole building area is 8,765 M2.
This museum keeps all
photographs & historical documents from wartime of independence, dioramas
and weapons used by the fighters are also exhibited as historical evidence for
the generation of the Indonesian nation, some aircraft that are still well
preserved condition & stored in the museum are :
- Ki-43 aircraft,
made in Japan
- Aircraft PBY-5A
(Catalina).
- WEL-I RI-X aircraft
replica (Indonesia's first production aircraft)
- Japan's A6M5 Zero
Sen aircraft.
- B-25 Mitchell
bomber, B-26 Invader, TU-16 Badger.
- Hillier 360
helicopters, made in USA
- P-51 Mustang
aircraft, made in USA
- KY51 Cureng
aircraft, made in Japan.
- The replica of the
Kampret Glider aircraft, made in Indonesia.
- TS-8 Dies aircraft,
made in USA.
- Lavochkin La-11,
Mig-15, MiG-17 and MiG-21 aircrafts, made in Russia
- Missile SA-75
Besides that there
are also former Dakota VC-CLA belonging to india company used by Palang Merah
Indonesia to transport drug donation & shot down by hunter kitty hawk plane
from dutch when will land at maguwo airport.
If fellow colleagues want to visit there I think is quite
easy for the aerospace museum accessible, because now a lot of public transport
has a goal past the museum, if a private vehicle instead be easier again to
achieve it. entrance fees to provide enough money only 10,000 rupiah ($1), if
you are still curious then try to come to this museum directly.
